Improved Summary and Analysis Capabilities
EZ-Pickin's V5 makes it easy to create new reports and charts with data extracted from existing reports. Now, users can apply filters in the Summary window, compute ratios and statistical values, perform "top-n" and "bottom-n" analysis, and reorder summaries based on the values in any column.

Improved Data Manipulation and Formatting Abilitye
EZ-Pickin's V5 offers improved ability to crunch data with new functions and operators making it easier for users to perform calculations and conversions on dates and times. Support for long field names and the ability to suppress zeros and show undefined values has also been added. By displaying the contents of a field in a scrollable and resizable window, EZ-Pickin's lets users easily see the entire contents of a memo field or long character field.

Friendlier User Interface
EZ-Pickin's is friendlier than ever before thanks to dozens of user interface enhancements. A particularly useful feature is the new Field List dialog that brings together all field and template properties in one place making editing easier than ever. The Field List dialog lets users view, print and edit the properties of all fields in the EZ-Pickin's table. Users simply click on a cell to make a change.

Faster Summary Performance
To create a summary report, EZ-Pickin's builds an array containing all the unique values of each key field used in the summary. In addition, EZ-Pickin's builds an array for each drill state that the summary might produce. EZ-Pickin's V5's summary engine is much faster than V4's, so it can typically build all arrays in the same amount of time required by V4 to build only the initial array. Users will notice the difference immediately when drilling down into complex multi-dimensional summaries.

Improved Exporting and Printing Capabilities
When exporting data to Excel in EZ-Pickin's V5, column width and data format settings are retained. Support for printing selections has also been added.

About EZ-Pickin's Report Mining Software
EZ-Pickin's technology, which is used by more than 300,000 professionals worldwide, works by reading the data contained in any standard ASCII report printer output file and creating a softcopy of it on the user's PC. As a result, users can read report files downloaded from virtually any computing environment, including mainframe, midrange or client/server. They can search the report files for information, print selected pages, copy and paste information to other applications or create a new database. The extracted data can also be filtered, sorted, rearranged, and used to create new reports.
By allowing knowledgeable workers to generate custom views of reports and mine reports for information quickly and easily on their own, EZ-Pickin's helps reduce the burden placed on IS managers for custom reports and report extracts.
Requirements and Compatibility
EZ-Pickin's V5 is a native 32-bit application and requires Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows NT 4.0+. Version 5 can read model files and portable report files created with earlier versions of EZ-Pickin's.
