Nexus makes it easy for you to ensure users only access the web applications, web pages, documents, dashboards and tools that they are authorized to.
Only valid Nexus users can log into Nexus. Nexus users can consist of IBM i, LDAP, or Nexus user profiles. The administrator can also set the length of time for a session to expire.
You can define user or group authorities for any portlet or ECM content (documents and folders). The authorities are easy to assign with drop down options and ECM authority inheritance saves you time and provides consistent content access. These authorities are extensions of the HTTP web server.
Security is implemented as extensions of the IBM i HTTP Apache Server. The HTTP server does not need to be restarted when you make changes to the link protections. Extensions are added by defining authority at the portlet level or by defining link protection directives to secure applications and other content.
The Nexus site is secured by the HTTP APACHE web server. Nexus provides the APACHE configuration required for a secure site.
Passwords are encrypted and users have the ability to change their IBM i user profile passwords from the Nexus login screen. Nexus administrators can control the number of days in advance to start displaying the password expiration warning message.
