Presto 3.8 New Features
You can download Presto including the free trial from our public site or on myBCDsoftware.com.
Export Data as Spreadsheet or HTML
The new Export Data transformation exports SQL query results as an HTML page or as a CSV spreadsheet that can open in Microsoft Excel.
The element itself can be a Button, Link or a clickable Image that, when clicked by the end user, will prompt them to open it or save it.
No copying and pasting of data or macros required.
Launch Presto in a Web Browser from the IDE
A new toolbar option makes launching your Presto site easier and faster. When you click the launch button, your Presto site opens in your default web browser.
Show Panel Detection Areas
On the Screen tab, you now have an option to display the panel detection areas. Detection areas are set in Tools -> Server Settings and are used
by Presto to detect each screen and apply customizations. Clicking on Show Panel Detection Areas highlights these areas so that you can clearly see
where to place unique screen information.
Change the IDE Browser Engine
End users can access their Presto screens with Google, Chrome or IE, however the Presto Designer, which is used for customizing screens, uses Internet Explorer.
You can now specify which version of IE use by doing Ctrl+F11 and selecting the desired IE version. Currently supported versions include IE7, IE8, and IE9.
Note: Only IE versions that are installed on the PC are available for selection.

Presto 3.5 New Features
Autocomplete Transformation
Easily add a jQuery autocomplete widget to your input fields. An autocomplete predicts the value the user is typing and allows them to choose their desired value without having to type it in completely.
- Fine tune the autocomplete with options such as the minimum number of characters to type before results are displayed.
- Uses SQL queries to generate the results.
- Great for helping your users find the correct value while saving them keystrokes.
Integrate new DB2 data with ExecuteSQL API
The new ExecuteSQL API allows you to include DB2 data that isn't part of your original program into your web enabled screens. You can do this without needing to touch the underlying program and without needing to call any other web apps. This gives you the ability to add new data to a screen such as new input fields and extra columns to your subfiles.
New Radio Buttons/Checkboxes Transformations
Create dynamic radio buttons and checkboxes quickly in the visual editor. They can be populated by using hard coded values or with a SQL query and can easily be aligned horizontally or vertically.

Improved Presto Designer UI
The improved UI gives you more control over the interface to manage the different components in the designer and provides a more logical organization of menus and tabs. The Tools column of the IDE is now on the right side of the main window by default, but you can also now move it, pin it and unpin it. Some of the options under the View menu have been changed, and rather than being used to switch focus between IDE tabs, the options now control the visibility of the tools/panels of the active tab.
Improved JavaScript Event Editor
The Visual Editor’s Event Editor now has a larger window, color coding to help you avoid syntax errors and line numbering to assist you in writing your JavaScript/jQuery code.
Visual Editor Support for Editing Tables
You can now select and change the properties of any elements in an HTML table in the Visual Editor.Change the table height, width, border, row and column width effortlessly with the Visual Editor. Note that this version does not yet support table creation via the visual editor. Tables are still created with the auto or custom table feature on the Panel Options.

Support for using Screen Values in Visual Editor
