What applications did you develop with WebSmart?

We developed a web-based customer order tracking system to replace a Domino based system, and recently, a customer order entry screen and a request for quote screen.

Did it take long to adapt to WebSmart?

In three to four hours after installing the product I had developed a working application that mirrored one of the Domino production applications.

What led up to your selection of WebSmart?

We looked at other solutions -- costing two hundred thousand dollars to one million plus for all the bells and whistles. We thought at that point we would just keep the one based on Domino, but then we found WebSmart.

What were the costs?

The price of the software and the services involved in doing the initial website for us with WebSmart was less than $30,000, with the license fees being a one time charge. Initially, I had budgeted $40,000 and expected to exceed it.

What are a few things you really liked about it?

I am not into the technical end per se, but clearly the ease of generating the code and HTML pages has saved us a lot of time and effort. The risk in switching over to WebSmart was minimal. This is a phenomenal piece of software that came up very quickly and very inexpensively.

Did it generate 100 percent of the executable code?

Yes, everything.

Are you using any other BCD products?

We just got Nexus and we are also using Catapult.

Did BCD's Technical Support team give you satisfactory answers when you called?

They have been very responsive.

What would you like to tell others about your experience with BCD Products?

Both the sales and service group have been extremely helpful, and have delivered what they promised. They delivered a product that is inexpensive to buy and inexpensive to run.

How would you grade BCD's effort, A through F?

I'd give them an A-plus.
