WebSmart JSE (Java Servlets Edition) is a companion web development solution to WebSmart ILE. While the ILE Edition produces iSeries-centric ILE programs, WebSmart JSE produces Java Servlets capable of running on any platform that supports a Java web server (for example: iSeries or Linux running Apache Tomcat, WebSphere Express or WebSphere).
Using the same IDE as the ILE Edition, you can leverage your development efforts. For example, you can start producing web applications using WebSmart ILE, then from essentially the same code base and development environment you can produce Java Servlets using any Java-based web server, such as Apache Tomcat, WebSphere Express, WebSphere or BEA Weblogic.
