Updates History - Release 3
Release 3.30 and 3.40 - 2003/08/13
Poller: 3.40 build 1203, Console: 3.40 build 897 update 10
Fix:
- In rare and specific occasions the wrong spool file attributes might be used to attempt to retrieve the attributes of the spool file. Usually this would result in an incorrect 'spool file not found' type error. In very rare occasions, the incorrect spool file might be processed.
Posted: 2003/07/02, Poller: 3.30 build 1200, Console: 3.30 build 895 update 9
Features:
- For RTF generation, a registry entry has been added to allow the choice of where to align the background graphic(s). No change is required to the registry if you desire the graphics to align (and move) with the top and left margins. If you would like the graphic to align with the top left corner of the page, the following registry entry needs to be added: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ESDI\Shared\RTFWriter\GraphicAlignment=1 This is a dword value. Note that this is a system wide default, and cannot currently be overridden at a GrabRule level.
- A new upgrade audit report has been added to help diagnose any discrepancies that may occur during an upgrade from Version 2.x to Version 3.x. To run the report do the following: ADDLIBLE XL_CATAPLT CALL SP_TUPD This will generate a report, highlighting discrepancies that may exist in your rules.
- Added Poller Configuration option to disable parsing your network to load a current list of printers for the Poller to use. This can dramatically improve the startup time of the Poller Configurator and the Catapult Poller on large networks and WANS.
- More robust multi-threading. Similar to that of Catapult 4 (to be released soon).
- Attach/Include multiple spool files into a single email.
- Email a link (or multiple links) to a spool file, rather than emailing the actual spool file(s).
- Email priority has been added.
- Email Read-Request is now supported.
- Customizable header and footer text can be included in the body of emails.
- Updated the Error List, History List, and Request List to display a count of entries as they are loaded.
- Updated the Error List and Request List to subset the entries.
- The Request List has been updated to show the current status of any pending, active or completed requests. Each status is color coded for easier identification.
- GrabRule list has been color coded to distinguish Active and Inactive requests.
- Email Groups used for Splitting can now contain duplicate key value entries so that more than one recipient can be listed for a particular section of a report.
- Console now reloads lists of GrabRules, History, and Requests only when required.
- Catapult Poller is now multi-threaded. This means that time consuming processes like emailing do not hold up the download and format process.
Fixed:
- A problem reported with split emails not adopting the base rule subject has been fixed.
- A problem with updating the Poller Resume Time in the Poller config has been resolved.
- In the situation where the Split Save Path was blank, the Catapult Console was correctly defaulting in the Path from the base rule. However, the Catapult Poller was not. This has been corrected.
- Autoscript output is now uniquely named (using the base name) to ensure that multiple requests will not overwrite the file before the email process occurs.
- Solved problem with missing email attachments when archiving to a network drive and running as a service.
- Solved a problem with SMTP email password retrieval. If your email server is rejecting the SMTP password, use the Poller Configurator to re-enter the password.
- Solved a problem with the last email scheduled to be sent being placed in email pending.
- Solved a problem with the poller experiencing difficulties while running as a service.
- Solved a problem with an incorrect mime-type being generated for plain text emails.
- The Tools/Email Groups menu option in the Console was not working correctly (the toolbar button function was ok).
- Poller Config, and Poller retrieving a blank list of available printers (when you know darn well that there are printers out there).
- Resolves the 'Grabrule not found' error situation caused after a zdstsplf run.
- Overlapping columns in reports are now handled correctly.
- Solved a 'lock' situation in the Catapult Console where the background 'Poller Status Check' would conflict with foreground processing.
- A problem reported where email addresses extracted from split sections was not working correctly has been fixed.
- A problem reported where split sections were not being saved correctly unless they were also being email has been corrected.
- Solved a problem with SMTP email password retrieval. If your email server is rejecting the SMTP password, use the Poller Configurator to re-enter the password.
- Solved a problem with an incorrect mime-type being generated for plain text emails.
- The Tools/Email Groups menu option in the Console was not working correctly (the toolbar button function was ok).

Posted: 2003/02/20, Poller: 3.30 build 998, Console: 3.20 build 885 update 3
Features:
- Automatic print functionality has been added. The print function uses the default application associated with the file extension, so no configuration is required. Similar to the Email function, Printing is done from an independent PC thread within the Poller, so that regular processing is not slowed down.
- Extended audit functionality has been added so that emails, saves and prints can be tracked. The audit entries can be viewed from the History List.
- The History List has been enhanced to retain your selected sort order on reload of the list.
- "*ALL" has been added as a valid Group key. This means that all of the sections can be emailed to a single address, as well as emailed to specific addresses.
- Email Split Subject has been enhanced to combine user- defined text with a value retrieved from the report. Use &S in the Split Subject.
- Email Groups and Value Groups have been combined. The user interface has been updated, and now groups can be more easily used for Saving, Emailing, and Printing.
- Email addresses can now contain Replacement Values. An example would be &U@yourcompany.com, so that the generated report will be automatically emailed to the person that created it.
- The Poller Configuration has been enhanced so include all of the configuration functions. Previously setting Polling/Purge times, enabling the Audit Report, and Selecting Queues to Poll was done from the Console. This functionality has been deprecated in the Console, and will be removed at 3.40.
Fixed:
- A reported problem with overlayed fields has been resolved.
- A reported problem with translation tables has been resolved.

- Controls:
- Ability to print the PDF
- Ability to change the PDF document

GrabRule Specific From -Address
- From-Address has been enhanced to be GrabRule specific, or to use the default Catapult Poller addresses.
New Paper-Sizes Supported
- Support has been added for European paper sizes A3 and A5 for PDF and RTF generation.
Splitting/Parsing
- Splitting has been dramatically enhanced. It now encompasses the idea of Parsing the document, and has been renamed Parsing/Splitting
- The Catapult Console GrabRule maintenance screens have been updated to aid the visibility of the extended functionality. Specifically the Parse/Split portion has been grouped together in a more logical manner.
- A check box has been added to simplify specifying that the entire document is to be parsed, rather than being split into multiple segments.
- Email From-Address can now be extracted from the downloaded report. Options include:
- Use the default defined in the Catapult Poller
- Use the address defined for the GrabRule
- Use an address extracted from the report text
- Use a key/lookup into an Email Group to cross-reference a data value to a Return-Address
- Use defined text that supports replacement tokens
- Email subject can now be extracted from the downloaded report. Options include:
- Use the subject defined for the GrabRule
- Use a subject extracted from the report text
- Use defined text that supports replacement tokens
- Segments can be selectively saved based on data extracted from the downloaded report. Options include:

- Save selected segments by using a key/lookup into an Value Group.
- A small bug has been addressed where the key value retrieved from the segment would be cleared if the key anchor was re-encountered within the segment
Console UI Improvements
- The History List, Errors List and Requests List have been improved to include Date and Time in one column. This dramatically improves the ability to sort based on processing date and time.
- The initial sort has been fixed in the Console, so that only one click is required to sort the list by descending GrabRule number.
- The print/email of GrabRules has been updated to include all of the new information present in a GrabRule
Poller Enhancements
- Move spool file to a selected queue once processing is complete.
- Added *RELEASE as an Action.
- Added options for handling unknown characters in the printer data stream when downloading spool files.
- Added enhancements to the Catapult Service to better co-exist in multi-domain networks where a Domain Controller that is not the Catapult Poller machine may control network resources.
- Modified processing when the Catapult Poller was defined to run once a day to not process immediately on start-up.
- Improved support for older version of Novell Netware servers.
- Improved handling of security errors where the iSeries/400 user profile running the Catapult Poller did not have authority to the requested spool file.
- Fixed the EndSrv.exe program for use with the Windows Scheduler AT command. It now retrieves the user profile from the Catapult Poller Service/Schedule Task settings.
- Catapult now uses the registry for systems settings, rather than using INI files. The install process has migrated your configuration to the registry. Please confirm your Communications and Poller settings.
- Improved security of passwords stored for Email and the Polling Service.
Legacy Application Integration
- New ZRUNRULE command to allow access to all GrabRule defined functions. This also enables a synchronous process for better integration into existing iSeries/400 jobstreams.
- New synchronous functionality in ZDSTSPLF command.
- New ZPOLLNOW command to trigger an immediate Catapult Poller cycle from an iSeries/400 jobstream.
- New ZPOLLEND command to end the Catapult Poller from an iSeries/400 jobstream. This is particularly useful for monthend backup processes etc.
