Updates History - Release 4
Catapult 4.20 - 2003/11/24
Poller: 4.20 build 1662, Console: 4.30 build 1268 update 0
Features:
- Support for overprinting and underlining in PDF, RTF and HTML. These attributes are now retained in the document, and display exactly like the printed source document. Use *RICH download type to include embedded underline and bolding (overprint) attributes from the printer data stream.
- Support for embedded rich format font, underline and bold tags. For full details on inserting Catapult-specific rich formatting tags into your reports, please visit: http://www.excelsystems.com/catapultrichtext.htm
- Support additional fonts for PDF, RTF, HTML. Any TrueType font can be used for these document types.
- Support for embedding TrueType fonts in PDF documents.
- Support for Gray-Scale images in PDF documents (RTF and HTML did not have this limitation).
- Support for overlay images named by page. This allows using a specific graphic for each page of a document.
- When running the Catapult Poller in 'Debug Mode', an option has been added to not include thread messages.
- When running the Catapult Poller in 'Debug Mode', a log has been added that tracks the Exodus conversations between the Poller PC and the iSeries.
- On startup of the Catapult Poller, requests that were left in 'Finalization Pending' status are completed.
- New option to work with all GrabRules in the Console (including hidden GrabRules generated by ZRUNRULE and ZDSTSPLF).
Fixed:
- History list and Request list: do not collapse and re-expand selected entries on print.
- Email Group report: reformat to allow for long key values.
- Email address length was incorrectly limited to 64 characters, rather than 256.
- Default the email connect timeout to 30 seconds with 3 re-tries, rather than an infinite wait.
- For plain text emails, set the content-type correctly.
- A problem with the cache when downloading a spool file first as a tif, then as text has been resolved.
- The cache path for tif documents was incorrectly generated. This has been resolved.
- A problem using the Poller Status window from the Poller tray-icon has been resolved when using Test Environments.
- Modifications to the generation of the next GrabRule number in ZRUNRULE, ZDSTSPLF, and in the Console. The next GrabRule number is now handled similar to the next Request number to ensure that duplicate entries cannot occur.
- Modifications to the save process for pendings Emails, Prints and Faxes. The Pending Count string (which was never used) is no longer retained.
- Modifications to how the pending string for Emails, Print and Faxes is processed internally. This is to resolve certain 'silent' crashes caused by a corrupted pending string.
Release 4.10 - 2003/10/10
4.10 build 1214, Console: 4.10 build 899 update 0
Features:
- Automatic Fax functionality has been added. The fax function uses Windows Fax Services included with Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
- Added title page and footer page processing. You can now add a jpg image and/or text as a title page and/or footer page to PDF and HTML documents. You can add a text title page / footer page to all document formats excluding TIF.
- Extended audit tracking of Requests has been added, visible through the Request and Errors List.
- Group setup has been enhanced. Groups are used for automatic splitting, faxing, printing, saving etc.
- Added a print facility for Groups and also for Request and History items.
- Added ability to resequence grab rules from the Console
- User specified temporary files directory - override so that Catapult Poller does not use the default Windows Temp directory.
- Extended Split Email subjects to include user defined text, as well as a value from the report.
- Add replacement character processing for email addresses (for example: &U@mycompany.com would cause the report to be emailed to the user who created the report).
- Send an Admin email if a new Poller version is available for download from your iSeries.
- Include a message in the email body if the attachment file or body text file cannot be found.
- Poller Configuration has been updated to include all aspects of the Poller configuration. No configuration is required from the Catapult Console.
- Improved messaging from the Poller for monitoring the Poller status.
- New function to create a unique file from the Autoscript output to facilitate the asynchronous email functionality.
- Added over-ride for Return Address in ZRUNRULE.
- Added replacement value processing to the Return Address.
- Use the Poller Config to enable and disable the attachment count that can be appended to the subject of emails.
- Support for 6 digit spool file numbers: OS400 supports 999,999 spool files for any job, up from 9,999 in prior releases.
- In the Request and Errors list a right-click menu item and an Edit menu item has been added to directly access the underlying Grab Rule. This was added to facilitate modifying temporary Grab Rules created by ZDSTSPLF and ZRUNRULE that are not normally accessible from the Grab Rule list.
- 'Test environment' capability on upgrade. This means that the existing Catapult library (XL_CATAPLT) is untouched by the install. A new library is created that contains all programs, rules and history entries. Use the Console Config and the Poller Config on your PC to specify the Test environment that the iSeries component was installed to. When you've determined that Catapult is functioning correctly, use the ZCHGENV command in XL_CATINST (the install library) to rename the Test Environment library to become your production environment library (and archive your old production library). For ease of transition, and to facilitate the ability to run both versions at will, you might consider installing the new version of Catapult onto a separate PC.
For more information on this feature, please review Appendix F - Running Catapult in a Test Environment
- For RTF generation, a registry entry has been added to allow the choice of where to align the background graphic(s). No change is required to the registry if you desire the graphics to align (and move) with the top and left margins. If you would like the graphic to align with the top left corner of the page, the following registry entry needs to be added: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ESDI\Shared\RTFWriter\GraphicAlignment=1 This is a dword value. Note that this is a system wide default, and cannot currently be overridden at a GrabRule level.
- In the Request and Errors list, allow re-activating blocks of requests that are in 'Error' status. Previously the requests needed to re-activated individually.
- Improved reliability of retrieving the list of network printers available to the Poller.
