Product License Key Improvements

New License Keys for WebSmart products

WebSmart 6 keys allow us to issue a permanent key that combines several ‘product features’ in one key. A ‘product feature’ can be: ILE IDE, ILE WAS, JSE IDE, JSE WAS or Clover IDE. This simplifies license key management for customers.

Current programs will continue to run under the old license key, while recompiled or newly created programs will require a new WebSmart 6 license key.

All new releases of products will contain a copy of the BCDSYSINFO command in their product libraries, making it as easy as possible for customers to get access to the information we need to generate a permanent license key.

How to Get Your New Permanent License Key

  1. Download and run the following Program: BCDSYSINFO and save it in a folder on your PC.
  2. Run the FTP upload utility by double clicking on bcdsysinfo.exe and upload this program to your iSeries.
  3. Log onto to an iSeries session
  4. Run the command ADDLIBLE BCDSUPPT
  5. Run the command BCDSYSINFO
  6. Take a screen shot of BCDSYSINFO and send it to Technical Support. If you have trouble taking a screen shot, copy and paste the contents of this screen into the email.
