Nexus ECM Features

Administrators or End Users can Post Content

Adding Content to the ECM

Site or Group Administrators or authorized end users can post content to the ECM and organize it within folders in a Windows Explorer like navigator and viewer. Using the ECM editor you can add folders, documents, headers, links or create documents. Simply add the required information and browse for the document on your PC. You can optionally add authorities, keywords and search indexes.

Window Explorer like Navigator and Viewer

Content in the Nexus ECM is organized within folders in a Windows Explorer like environment called the ECM Navigator and Viewer. The ECM Navigator uses AJAX technology to allow for rapid navigation using a menu tree whereas the Viewer shows you the contents of a folder or the selected document.

Auto file reports to the ECM with Catapult

Catapult integrates seamlessly with Nexus so iSeries spool files can automatically be distributed, published, indexed, assigned authorities and organized in folders in the Nexus ECM in PDF or HTML format. For more information on Catapult, BCD's award winning automated iSeries Report Distribution and Document Management software, click here (add link to new Catapult home page).

Restricting Access and Controlling Content

1-ECM Object Authorities, 2-View with Authority to all Content, 3-Restricted View by Sales Group Member

The ECM content the end user sees is controlled by what they have been given authority to. Authority to content can be given to users, groups of users or subgroups. All content can inherit authority given to higher level folders setting up highly granular rules for protecting viewing or editing of content.

Search Values and Keywords

Add Search Indices

Multiple search values and keywords can be added for each document to help users find documents. When an end user performs a search any document containing matching search values or keywords will be selected. These values can also automatically be pulled form a report using Catapult.

Rich Browser Client App for Creating Documents

The Nexus ECM includes a rich browser client app for creating formatted content directly into the ECM - apply fonts, styles, include links, images, and more directly in the editing tool. Thee simplicity of its WYSIWYG user interface means document modification and maintenance can be offloaded to end-users.

Add Active Content or Symbolic Links

Adding a Symbolic Link

You can add links in the ECM which can be links to 'active' content, such as links to WebSmart programs or other web programs or web pages. Links can also be symbolic links which are shortcuts in folders to a document in the ECM.

ECM Templates Associated to Documents

Use ECM templates to show customized embedded content and portlets associated with any document or folder of documents. Templates can also be inherited from higher level folders which makes it easy to provide a consistent framework.
