Michell's, a horticultural broker that has been in business for more than 125 years, worked with BCD's Professional Services team to develop a B2B ecommerce site that runs on IBM i over DB2 data. The mobile-friendly website makes it easy for Michell's customers to place their own orders from anywhere, on any device.
The website was developed with WebSmart PHP, BCD's rapid PHP web application development solution. BCD Professional Services also used Bootstrap, a responsive development framework that enables the website to automatically adjust to fit the screen size that it's displayed on.

Benetech creates new revenue stream and solidifies long-term IBM i strategy with PHP web application
Benetech, a leading employee benefits solution provider for over 30 years, worked with BCD Professional Services to develop a browser-based benefits enrollment application that uses PHP and integrates with their IBM i.
The application has created a new revenue stream for Benetech and expanded their customer base outside of New York, which shows potential to grow nationally. It has also helped define Benetech's long-term IBM i strategy. The solution uses Formtastic to transform the organization's spool files into modern looking PDFs. Users get self-serve, menu-based access from browsers on any PC at any time via a customized Nexus portal.

Wholesale distributor saves time and reduces data entry errors with modernized and mobilized application
BCD Professional Services' proof-of-concept for this mobile Presto application got immediate support from a wholesale distributor's * executive team. Their forklift drivers now use the touch-friendly screens on tablets to complete seven million inventory item picks each year. The touch-friendly buttons make the application easy to navigate, larger fonts reduce errors by making details more visible and a flyout menu maximizes screen real estate.

Alfa Aesar first partnered with BCD Professional Services in early 2009. The initial requirement was to design a new corporate web site. The project blossomed into the development of a full-featured site using WebSmart that allowed Alfa personnel to customize the content. The site included secure B2B and B2C ecommerce and supported a multilingual environment. Since then, Alfa Aesar and BCD have collaborated to introduce many new enhancements including a site for mobile devices, secure delivery of MSDS information, e-procurement "PunchOut" and much more.

Health care company improves operational efficiency by giving their RPG programs a web GUI
A prominent healthcare company (name withheld for confidentiality reasons) partnered with BCD Professional Services to give one of their RPG applications a web GUI. BCD used Presto to deliver the project within the client's compressed two-week deadline.
The modernized screens have replaced an inefficient pen-and-paper workflow, which has increased end user productivity and satisfaction, and resulted in fewer data entry errors. The client considers Presto a high-priority, strategic initiative and continues to work with BCD on new green screen modernization projects.

WebSmart PHP modernizes Skechers order fulfillment system
Varied requirements for customer orders taxed Skechers' outdated fulfillment system until the footwear company used BCD's WebSmart PHP web application development tool and Professional Services to build handheld touch screen and desktop apps for its order tracking and quality inspection systems. Manufacturer tracks sales and orders with visual dashboard and dynamic sales territory maps
BCD Professional Services used Clover and WebSmart to develop a real-time order tracking dashboard and dynamic sales territory maps for a furniture manufacturer. The dashboard includes reports and charts so management and sales can find the information they need at a glance. The maps were developed with Websmart. They use XML to customize the color of the territories and display information when you hover over the map.

Multiple eCommerce sites running from same code base on IBM i
Western Glove Works (WGW) is one of Canada's largest and best known manufacturers of denim products including Silver Jeans and Jag Jeans. BCD Professional Services redeveloped and redesigned their eCommerce web sites and used a single code base for their two sites, each of which has a very unique and distinctive look. Both sites run on WGW's IBM i and integrate with their database and order fulfillment system without any unique programming for each site.

WebSmart programs integrate with ERP system on the IBM i
WebSmart allowed Mitsubishi Fuso to write applications that tightly integrated with their ERP system running on the IBM i. This allows real time data and transactions when dealers inquire on availability of trucks or parts, buy trucks and spare parts, and manage warranty claims. Mitsubishi Fuso is able to present information on the complete life cycle of a truck from the time it is ordered from the factory to when the dealers sell it to an end user.

Revamped government website improves access to information
The Murray City, Utah web site was redesigned and revamped providing improved information access and on-line applications. The On-Line Utility system was one of the applications that Murray City wanted to move directly onto the IBM i platform. This provides real time access to data and eliminates using another web application server and the associated costs for hardware, software, and programming. Hosting this application on the IBM i also means that the Murray City IS group can maintain the programs using WebSmart.

Difficult to maintain public website redesigned with Drupal
BCD Professional Services redesigned and redeveloped the Saanich School District 63 public web site with Drupal. The existing site was difficult to maintain and needed a new look. The new site is easy for the staff to maintain as it does not require them to have HTML knowledge to update content. Consultant selects BCD for pharmaceutical ERP project, wins high praise
When SteelNet Solutions hit a snag in an iIBM i ERP project that was almost finished, the project deadline and budget to which SteelNet had firmly committed were in jeopardy. Web Orders system replaces old, unreliable process with real-time, intuitive solution
uniPHARM implemented a browser-based Web Orders system with the help of WebSmart and BCD Professional Services. The intuitive solution improved the organization's ability to service shareholders and customers (pharmacies). Previously, these orders were processed via an Electronic Order Book (EOB) package, which required each pharmacy to install this software on a local PC. Orders were transmitted via e-mail resulting in a variety of problems associated with such an old, unreliable system.

Nippon Express, located in Wooddale Illinois, needed to facilitate shipping and tracking orders for Mazda Corporation. The project had a very tight deadline and they had no in-house resources to complete it in the time allowed. The first phase was completed in good time and everyone was pleased with the outcome.
