Installation Instructions
These instructions are for new installs of Presto 8.0 (and higher) only. If you are upgrading Presto from an earlier release, please log into myFrescheSolutions.com to view the Upgrader's Guide. For additional product information, please visit the Presto home page.
Step 5: Start the License Server Subsystem.
Starting with version 8.4 the License Seat Count will be enforced.
Although the license server should have started automatically during the install process it makes sense to double check that. Use the WRKACTJOB command to check if the LICSRV subsystem has been started and that it has LICSRV job running under it.
In case the subsystem is not running, you can start the subsystem by using this command:
STRSBS XL_LCSRV/LICSRV
Once the subsystem has been started continue to the next step.
Starting the License Server Subsystem After an IPL
If you have routine IPLs scheduled for your IBM i, you will need to start the License Server after each IPL. You should consider adding the command STRSBS XL_LCSRV/LICSRV to your start-up CL program.
