Current Release

The current version of Nexus is Nexus 6.4.

To check your release level run this command for releases prior to version 4: DSPDTAARA XL_SMSLIB/BCDREL. As of version 4 the command to find out your release level will use the library name you specified during the installation or the default, XL_NEXUS: DSPDTAARA XL_NEXUS/BCDREL.

Update Requirements

You should be at release 3.60 or higher to upgrade to release 6.3. If you are not at 3.6 you can download it from the Download/Product Archives at You can review the Nexus 6.4 system requirements here.

The update(s) below can only be applied to Nexus 6.4 which is the current full version. To check your release level run the command: DSPDTAARA XL_SMSLIB/BCDREL (Your environment may be different than XL_SMSLIB). If you are on the current release and the last update you applied was a lower number than the one listed below download and apply the update. If you are not on the current release you can download version6.3 here.

Instructions to Install Update(s)

Click on the links below that start with NX followed by the update number. Save the exe file to a folder on your computer then double click to run. The update wizard will pop up and step you through the rest of the process. The update(s) below must be applied in order of earliest first.

Nexus 6.4 Updates

There are no updates available for release 6.4.

Release 6.4 - 2020/03/05

 Nexus 6.4 includes the following enhancements:

  • The User List API will now search over user id, name and email fields.
  • The Group List API will now search over group name, description or parent group name.
  • The Remove User API will now accept a user id.
  • The user audit fields (date, time , user) for both the APIs and Classic Nexus are now updated correctly (NX-3508).
  • The IFS archive directory path (Manage Pages -> ECM defaults) is now retained in a cloned environment. (NX-3713).
  • Resolved issue with too many incorrect passwords writing raw html to the screen (NX-3898).
  • All APIs for managing document authorities and maintenance, and for uploading documents have been updated to version 2 as of release 6.2. For a complete list of APIs check out Chapter 4, Nexus 6.4 API in the Nexus 6.4 Users Guide
  • You will need a new key to upgrade to Nexus 6.x from v5 and earlier and this will be available after selecting Nexus from the downloads page.
  • Minimum IBM i OS V6R1.
